Im a yoga therapist that has studied more nutrition and Ayurveda than most nutritionists.
The answer to that question is, I started dealing with food and stomach conditions, low immune system and chronic fatigue and Epstein Barr virus when I was about 16 years old and Im 66 today. Epstein Barr was not named as yet but they called it a form of mono which actually is in the herpes Complex family. The only kind of doctor available at that time was a regular GP or internist, and they were not familiar with gut health or even immune disorders especially in teenagers. So the beat went on and I became a researcher extradinair. My education went from books that were actually at a library, the few health food stores that were around, some crazy brilliant osteopaths and chiropractors,
I also found some people that were getting PHDs in microbiology a few naturopaths and herbalists. I had to heal me and then I would figure out what I was going to do with this education I so fanatically desired. When time went on I was able to enroll in courses at the different universities in my area and even study with different types of holistic doctors and specialists on the immune system and the gut. When I started to mentor with different Ayurveda doctors and practitioners I already had a huge grasp on this thing called health and how important food was. I wrote this 80 page E book a bunch of months ago and realized I should have published a hard cover book because that would have been easier to curl up on a couch, read and relax. Live and learn, thats one of the greatest things about being human we can do anything we want, realize we should have done things differently and repeat in a new way.
My greatest pleasure is to meet a women on a mountain top while hiking and feel that its ok to talk to her and by the time we get down to the bottom she has changed some nutritional things that will help her health, she will do a few modified postures I think will help the pain in her inner knees and look at a disturbance in another way that I have suggested to her even though I was not letting her know I was teaching her. It's a passive way of suggesting. Call if you want, email or just read my blogs or instagram. Here to help make the planet a better place.
